Dr Keith Dinnie is a leading figure in the field of place branding for cities, regions, and countries. He is an author, the President of Bloom Consulting, and a Reader in Marketing at the University of Dundee.

Keith is an expert in the development of place branding in domains such as soft power, trade and investment, talent attraction, and tourism promotion. His pioneering textbook Nation Branding: Concepts, Issues, Practice was the first of its kind when published in 2008. The book is now in its third edition and translated into various languages.

Keith served as an expert advisor to the UK Government in 2024-25, sitting on a three-person expert panel tasked with delivering an independent strategic review of the Government’s GREAT campaign. He has conducted consultancy projects for Brand Scotland, Changsha (China), Thessaloniki (Greece), and the UK Government’s Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (Defra), as well as advising the Korean Presidential Council on Nation Branding. In his role as President of Bloom Consulting, he is involved in place branding projects with clients worldwide.

An experienced speaker, Keith has delivered keynotes and joined high-profile panels at international conferences across China, Japan, South Korea, the United States, the United Kingdom, Greece, Portugal, Italy, the Netherlands, Germany and South Africa.
