Profile

Layna Mosley is Professor of Politics and International Affairs at Princeton University. She is Director of the Princeton Sovereign Finance Lab and Interim Director of the Niehaus Center for Globalization and Governance. She also serves as co-editor-in-chief of International Organization, a leading journal of international politics.

Mosley’s current research focuses on the political economy of sovereign finance, including how investors evaluate political risk and how geopolitics affects the resolution of debt crises and the transparency of debt information. She has also written on the role of the US dollar; the links between global supply chains and workers’ rights; and the domestic politics surrounding trade policy.

Mosley is author of Global Capital and National Governments (Cambridge University Press) and Labour Rights and Multinational Production (Cambridge University Press). Her academic articles have appeared in American Political Science Review, American Journal of Political Science, British Journal of Political Science, Comparative Political Studies, International Organization and International Studies Quarterly, among others. She is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.

During the last two years, Mosley has addressed audiences including investors (SHARE Investor Summit, Vancouver; Boston Global ARC; Leadership Now); central bankers and economic researchers (Bank of Korea; Boston Federal Reserve); and national government officials (International Monetary Fund). She also has extensive experience presenting research at academic institutions and offering media commentary, including appearances on National Public Radio, ABC News and CBS News.
