Profile

Dr Silvia Pepino is an economist, senior executive, board director and technology founder with more than 20 years of experience across global finance, central banking, public policy and corporate governance. She helps boards, investors and business leaders understand how geopolitical, macroeconomic, financial and technological change interact, and what those connections mean for strategy, risk and asset allocation.

She is a Visiting Senior Fellow in the Department of International Relations at the London School of Economics and Political Science, where her research focuses on geopolitics, global markets and strategic technologies. She holds a PhD from LSE, the TRIUM Global Executive MBA from NYU Stern, HEC Paris and LSE, and degrees in economics from Bocconi University.

Silvia has held senior positions at the Bank of England, JPMorgan and Brevan Howard Asset Management. At the Bank of England, she served as Head of International Forecast and Global Outlook and Head of Capital Markets Policy, working on global economic developments, financial stability and systemic risk.

She currently serves as an Independent Director and Chair of the Remuneration Committee at BancoPosta Fondi SGR, one of Italy’s largest asset managers, and previously served on the board of energy company Saras.

She is also the founder of GlobeEye, an award-winning technology company using satellite data and artificial intelligence to support green finance and environmental risk assessment.

An experienced speaker for senior business, investment and policy audiences, Silvia combines rigorous analysis with direct experience of markets, policymaking and board-level decisions. Her speaking themes include the global macroeconomic outlook and systemic risk, the impact of geopolitical fragmentation on markets and business decisions, the interaction between markets and public policy, AI and strategic technologies, the emerging space economy, and the use of satellite intelligence for finance, climate and natural assets.

She is the author of Sovereign Risk and Financial Crisis: The International Political Economy of the Eurozone (Palgrave Macmillan).
